A mournning was arranged in the college conference hall on 7 May in rememberance of Professor Md Ali Azam, member of the Governing Body, Dhaka Commerce College. Chairman of the Governing Body Professor Dr Shafiq Ahmed Siddique presided over the meeting. Vice-chancellor of BUBT Professor Abu Saleh, Founder and former Principal Professor Kazi Faruky, Principal Professor Md Abu Sayeed, Vice-Principal (Administration) Professor Md Shafiqul Islam, Professor Md Bahar Ullah Bhuiyan, Md Nurul Alam Bhuiyan, Shamim Ahsan, nephew Ishtiaq Ahmed and daughter Tahmina Azam of Professor Ali Azam reminisced of the deceased. Member of the Governing Body Md Shamsul Huda, Professor Mian Lutfar Rahman and the teachers and staffs were also present in the meeting. It is to note that Professor Md Ali Azam, member of the Governing Body, former Pro Vice-chancellor of BUBT, former Chairman of NCTB and former Principal of Azam Khan Govt Commerce Collge expired on 30 April 2016 at the age of 80.
